We're on the lookout for a dedicated Temporary Environmental Project Worker to join our team for a rewarding assignment spanning four weeks from March 1st to April 20th. The weeks working can be chosen by you. As our chosen candidate, you'll bring your environmental knowledge and education to the forefront, delving into crucial research and reporting on the pervasive issue of plastic pollution or our ocean along a specific stretch of coastline. Your mission includes identifying funding sources for the viable solutions (in your report), and contributing to our commitment to reducing ocean plastic pollution through the "A Future without Rubbish" initiative.
Job Title: Temporary Environmental Project Worker
Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive online and on-site research within the geographic area of one county council to understand the nuances of plastic pollution in our ocean—examining its scale, key elements, context, impacts, causes, and potential mitigation methods.
Compile a detailed report encapsulating the findings of your research.
Integrate a section in the report showcasing viable funding sources for the suggested solutions outlined in your findings.
Receive ongoing feedback and guidance as you progress through the project, supporting the community interest company "A Future without Rubbish" in administering The Coastline Runner initiative (www.thecoastlinerunner.com ). This initiative is focused on not only combating ocean plastic pollution but also fostering connections with schools, councils, businesses, and communities (SCBC) along the way.
Qualifications:
Background in Environmental Science or a related field.
Strong research and report-writing skills.
Knowledgeable about plastic pollution and its environmental impacts.
Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
Capable of working independently and collaboratively within a team.
Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite.
Working Hours:
~ 40 hours per week.
~Salary: the minimum wage.

Hybrid job structure: Flexibility to work either from our Central London office or remotely from home.
